Village lunch

Over 60 lovely retired people , mostly over 80 (the helpers are all retired!) tucked into cottage pies and a choice of ten, yes 10 different puddings.

I usually come away feeling very bulgy and happy, although there is a lot of holy listening that goes on, mostly about hospital appointments and wayward grandchildren.

Todays gem:

“S, I hope it’s alright? I’ve stuck a very small England flag on my husband’s grave, just for the duration of the world cup.”

(((Oh)))  Of course it’s fine!

I’m now waiting for a proliferation of little red crosses across the churchyard.
