Stainglass resurrection

This is a picture of the resurrection in the stainglass window above the altar in St M’s.

Jesus is bursting from the tomb with bright light behind him.  At his feet are two sleeping soldiers. They look exhausted.  In fact the one with the beard looks just like the vicar.  I hope that doesn’t mean that I am the other one.

What is Jesus doing with that pointy stick?  Prodding us awake?  If you get too tired, you will miss the resurrection and all the fun!

Note to self and other weary clergy: Be careful you don’t overdo it and run yourself ragged during Holy Week, otherwise there will be nothing left to celebrate on Easter Sunday.
