Advent cries

Thought we would have a go at writing some Advent cries at the family service tomorrow.  There are some excellent examples in Ruth Burgess’s book, ‘Hear my cry’

The reading tomorrow is from Luke 3.

The people asked John, ‘What are we to do?’ He answered, ‘Whoever has two shirts must give one to the person who has none; whoever has food must share it.’

Here is an Advent cry.  It is on page 31 of the book.

O Baptiser,

just and bright and full of glory:

Come bring us to repentance

and turn us round to face You;

plunge us deep into justice and truth.
