Bramble jelly

blackberriesWhat a glorious sunny day!  I love autumn.  We’ve just been on a local walk and our hands are stained purple from picking blackberries.  There was no room in the freezer so I have set about making bramble jelly.  There is something soothing about stirring jam and waiting for it to set.  A chance to stop and think about God’s provision, lilies of the valley and all that.  (Tomorrow’s harvest No. 2 sermon is still rewriting itself in my head). There are now identical jars of red jam on my shelf; damson jam, blackcurrent jelly and bramble jelly.  Do I make some labels or take pot luck at breakfast?   Yum!
