Dorset Knobs

dorset knobLOL at the benefice fete.

Got away with asking the vicar if he had thrown his knob yet.

For those of you outside the county, Dorset knobs are biscuits that look like mini bread rolls. At the fete there was a prize for the person who could throw one the furthest. The prize? -a bag of Dorset knobs.

Glorious thing: The sun made an appearance.  The four churches worked together, enjoyed themselves and I didn’t hear any grumbling about how to split the takings.

OK thing: It made £2700. Just about enough to cover some benefice expenses this year, but that is all.

Thing needed: Some serious talks about planned giving and generosity.  How have we let fund raising take over everything that is done in church?
